Prompt
A prompt is the question or instruction a shopper gives an AI assistant. In AI-visibility tools, a prompt is also the unit of measurement: a tracked question the tool runs to see whether your brand appears.

What this means for your store
The prompt a shopper types is only the start. The assistant expands it through query fan-out into many sub-queries, and you are judged on all of them. When a tool tracks "prompts," it is sampling the questions your buyers ask, which is useful, but remember it is a sample, not the engine's real query logs.
