Product variant
A product variant is a specific version of a product, like a size or color option. A blue medium t-shirt is one variant of a t-shirt product, with its own price, availability, and often its own identifier.

What this means for your store
AI agents match against specific requests: "black, size 10, in stock." If your variants live as structured options with their own availability and identifiers, an agent can confirm the exact one a shopper asked for. If the variants only exist as text in the description, the agent cannot tell which are in stock, and you lose filtered query fan-out searches.
